MHA LTC Members: Who They Are, Patients They Serve
Long-term care pharmacy providers are highly specialized pharmacies that serve older adults and other populations with special needs. These pharmacies may be located in transitional subacute settings, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, hospice centers, group homes, developmentally disabled centers, prisons, and community settings such as home health. These long-term care pharmacies offer much more than “traditional” dispensing services, including medication management, medication chart review, formulary management and services, specialized packaging, emergency medication services, infusion and intravenous therapy, enteral and parenteral nutrition, medical/surgical goods and supplies, and educational training to healthcare providers and caregivers.
